“And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him.”

An organization called the Bradshaw Foundation has funded an interesting interactive map that purports to trace the spread of our human ancestors from Africa across the globe. The Journey of Mankind map also features key climate change and cultural developments along the way. (HT: The Presurfer)
Setting aside for a moment the evolutionary underpinnings of the map and the study it’s based upon, it is interesting to see the harmony of Scripture and science. Theology remains Queen of the sciences. Two thousand years ago, before the advent of modern science, a so-called “pre-scientific” apostle writes a profound sentence (Acts 17:26; itself but a paraphrase of much earlier statements in Genesis) about human origins that “scientific” man is only now accepting and documenting. We may come to know great things by science. But many of them we may know much quicker by revelation.
