bryce-dugout

The other day I was studying and my email popped up from my 13yr old son Bryce.  The subject was intriguing to say the least, “Dad I wrote the inscription for your tombstone…”  This was an assignment for school.

Bryce is very clever, smart, funny, and a great writer…so I suspected a joke.  However, he also, by God’s grace, loves Christ. So what I got was a tremendous blessing.

What was enclosed causes so many emotions for me as a Dad, a Christian, a pastor.  Bryce clearly understands the testimony of Christ’s loving power and grace in my life.  In reading this so many things come rushing together at once here to simply say, “Christ is awesome” and to pray that God would use Bryce to make a great impact for the fame of Jesus.

But then, the clouds of the sky were rent, and the Savior whose blood was shed, stood there, fixing the sinner with his gaze.

Nowhere to run, exposed to himself, the sinner cowered against the ground.

Expecting judgment, the sinner clenched his hand, and away from the Christ he ran.

But the Mighty God, the Savior of the World, reached from his throne and turned this rebel from sure death, and brought him, clothed in white, perfect, sound, and saved from his plight, to face the Father in heavenly light.
